Upcoming ETS, IBR, and SBL Annual Meetings in Denver

Next week is our annual ETS, IBR, and SBL conferences, one of our highlights of the year. This year’s conferences are held in the beautiful city of Denver.

The following is a list of our papers, including times and locations:

ETS – Tue, Nov 13

Stan – “The Language(s) of John’s Gospel and Revelation: What Do the Similarities and Differences Tell Us?” (9:00am, Denver)

Stan – “Romans 5:1: What a Difference an O Can Make” (3:40pm, Vail)

ETS – Wed, Nov 14

Dave – “Speech Functions and Speech Acts: An Examination of the Tenor of Galatians 1:6–12” (10:10am, Governor’s Square 12)

ETS – Thu, Nov 15

Stan – “Beware of Philippians 3:2: Reconsidering a Supposed Imperative” (3:30pm, Denver)

IBR – Fri, Nov 16

Stan – “Reflections from the Co-Editor of ‘Pillars in the History of Biblical Interpretation,’ Vols 1 and 2” (3:35pm, CC- Mile High 4A)

From a cursory look at some of the papers for all three conferences, there seems to be a lot of promising titles, especially in the area of Greek linguistics and textual criticism/papyrology, subjects of interest to both Stan and me. We look forward to the scholarly interaction, as well as catching up with friends and colleagues. And of course the culinary experiences that Denver has to offer.
